High-order thermoelastic composite plate theories: an analytic comparison

High-Order displacement theories for thermoelastic composite plates are developed and compared with some of the published high-order theories. Effects of transverse shear strain and transverse normal strain are considered. Analytical solutions are developed for specially orthotopic plates using the Navier approach. Numerical results illustrate the importance of including transverse normal strain on the maximum deflection response of moderately thick plates subjected to a depth-linear temperature field.
