Milking characteristics of two liners

Two liners with same dimensions, but made of different compounds, were compared in a 2 times 3 day experiment with 12 cows on quarter level. Milk flow on quarter level and teat deformation using ultrasound were recorded. The two liners did not differ in milk yield or milk flow. Liner B showed bigger increase in teat-wall thickness and more decrease in teat-cistern diameter. Liner B seemed to apply more forces on the teat without improving milk-flow characteristics.
