Design of a L-band omni-directional antenna for electronic warfare decoy

A new type of L-band antenna with omni-directional pattern in azimuth plane and hemisphere pattern in vertical plane is presented in this paper.The beamwidth of the antenna reaches 90°~120°.The HFSS is applied to make simulation of the antenna electrical characteristics.The measured results agree well with the simulated ones.Such antenna can be used in the electromagnetic countermeasure(ECM) systems.
