A digital eye camera for obtaining digital images of the retinal region of the eye, which defines a retina (a), a cornea and a lens, and digital images of the corneal region of the eye, wherein said digital eye chamber comprises: a mounting bracket (4) for mounting the optical elements of the camera, wherein said elements comprise: 1) a first combination of optical elements for making said digital retinal images, and 2) a second combination of optical elements (12 , 51) for taking said digital corneal images, wherein a portion of said first combination of elements and said second combination of elements are shared elements, wherein said shared elements comprise: 1) a first lens element (12) a combination objective lens (12, 13), 2) a digital image sensor (18), 3) at least one eye to view the retina or cornea, and wherein said first combination elements comprising: 1) a first exchangeable element (13) of said lens system lens focusing, in combination with said first lens element (12), parts of or the entire retinal region in or approximately in a plane image common (14), 2) a light source retinal illumination (27), 3) an opening (19) within said support and disposed within said first combination (12, 13)) to form an effective retinal opening located in or approximately in the eye lens defining a position effective retinal opening, wherein said second combination comprises: one second exchangeable element (21) of said lens system lens focusing, in combination with said first lens element (12 ), portions of or the entire retinal region in or approximately in a plane common images; wherein with said chamber can be obtained digital images of both the retinal region and the corneal region of the eye, it characterized in that the first combination of elements further comprises an infrared camera (34) to determine the eye position, and a mechanism adjusting opening for adjusting the effective opening retinal based on position signals from said infrared camera.
