The stress intensity factors of a radial crack in a point loaded disc

Abstract The elastic problem of a radial crack in a finite elastic disc which has point loads on the circumference is reduced to the solution of a Fredholm equation. From this solution the stress intensity factor at both tips and the energy of crack formation are derived.
