We propose the improvement method of MIMO channel capacity using block-wise controlled transmit-array antenna for the environment suffering from the key-hole effect. Though individual control of all elements in the transmit-array may yields the maximum channel capacity, it will cause high complexity in hardware and control algorithm. In this method, the transmit-array is divided into partitioned sub-arrays, each of which has antenna elements with same termination reactance. The transmit-array is placed at the aperture between two enclosed rooms to increase the number of the paths. The numerical analysis based on the raytracing method showed the channel capacity can be improved by 5.0 Bits/s/Hz and this result supports the effectiveness of the proposed method for reducing the dead zone in wireless communications.
