A novel method based on RF detection enabling wireless and passive LC sensing

This paper presents a method based on RF detection for wireless and passive LC sensors. A square pulse excitation and a structure of two inductors in the series connection with opposite phases are adopted to receive excitation signals efficiently and achieve a high signal-to-noise ratio. The method is implemented by a detection circuit based on FPGA and verified by a test system. Experimental results show that the detection method is suitable for the detection of gastrointestinal pressure sensors with resonant frequencies at ∼120 kHz. As a proof-of-concept demonstration, this detection method is capable of detecting wireless and passive LC sensors based on RF detection in the manner of pulse excitation.
