Simple modification of the Lack system for use with Manley ventilators

spray. The rubber catheter mount tubing is attached over the patient end for connexion to a Doughty or other metal connector; or a 15-mm connector, as in the RAE tube, fits directly. All breathing systems with a 15-mm internal diameter connector fit the proximal end including an Ayre's T-piece. The dead space is 4 ml. or 7.5 ml with catheter mount tubing, so it is quite suitable for use in children. It is re-usable if washed or soaked in disinfectant but should be discarded if autoclaving is considered necessary.
