A user friendly interactive graphics system (abstract only)

This paper summarizes and illustrates the implementation of a speech recognition system as a user friendly interface to an interactive graphics package. The graphics part of the program is based on material presented in Interactive Computer Graphics by Andries Van Dam. Two aspects are covered: the limitations and capabilities of the speech recognition system itself: and how those factors interact with the demands of the interactive graphics package. A major problem encountered in implementing this system, the physical interface between dissimilar non-standard devices, is also discussed.
