The mobility management method for seamless handover using user terminal with multi interfaces

A seamless mobility management method using a wireless multi-interface terminal is provided to offer a seamless service to a user by previously executing handover through a new interface and establishing a path in case that a handover request is generated due to the user's movement or a change in network environment. A UT(User Terminal) receives data through an old AR(Access Router) and a serving interface(S1). Judging that handover for the UT is required, an RRM(Radio Resource Manager) transmits an HO(HandOver) initiate command to the UT and the old AR(S2). In this case, the RRM transmits the ID of a new AR and a local CoA(Care of Address) together with the HO initiate command. Receiving the HO initiate command, the old AR transmits a context associated with the UT to the new AR, and creates a tunnel for communication with the new AR(S3). As the tunnel is created, the data are bicasted to both the UT and the new AR from the old AR(S5). At this moment, the new AR buffers the tunneled data until a handover interface is connected(S6). Also the new AR executes pre-registration instead of the handover interface, based on the received information(S4). Receiving the HO initiate command, the handover interface executes an L2/L3 connection to the new AR(S7). If the connection is completed, the handover interface receives the buffered data(S8).
