Performance of an adaptive multi-dimensional lattice equaliser for Q/sup 2/PSK over multipath channels

The paper presents results on the performance of an adaptive decision feedback equaliser (DFE) for the multi-dimensional Q/sup 2/PSK modulation format in static multipath channels. The modem integrates dynamic synchronisation mechanisms with an adaptive multi-dimensional lattice equaliser to mitigate the detrimental effects of intersymbol interference (ISI) caused by multipath channels. The results presented have been constrained to static channels due to the complexity of the problem addressed. The presentation incorporates both analytical as well as simulation results.
