Simulation of Bi-direction Pedestrian Flow in Urban Rail Transit Corridors Using Ant Cellular Automata Model

According to the survey on pedestrian walking characteristics in Beijing subway channels,the pedestrians behavior characteristics and traffic characteristics of bi-direction pedestrian flow,such as walking rightward,following,avoiding face to face collision from right-hand,paying little attention to the rear situations,exchanging places of counter pedestrians and tending to choice the shortest path,were analyzed.Combining the thought that ant left pheromone on the passed route,the update rules that could embody the walking characteristics of pedestrian counter flow were put forward,the Cellular Automata(CA) model based on the ant colony algorithms was established,and the influence of the evaporation coefficient of pheromone to the simulation result was studied.Simulation result indicates that the new model can reproduce pedestrians' walking characteristics in bi-direction channels effectively.
