Computer Simulation and Analysis of the Isothermal Formation of Vane-integrated Disk

The formation of vane-integrated disk used in high-pressure compressor of turbine engine is simulated and analyzed with the finite element method (FEM) on the platform of software DEFORM 3D. With proper computer models and careful analysis of the simulated result,the blank is modified as the shape of being thin in the middle and thick in circumference, and the optimum size is given. Moreover, according to the simulation results, probable defects during the formation and their positions are predicted and suggestions are presented,which plays an active role of guidance for practical forging.
