A novel receiver topology based on Cockcroft-Walton voltage multiplier for Inductive Power Transfer system

Based on the Cockcroft-Walton (CW) voltage multiplier, a novel receiver topology for IPT (Inductive Power Transfer) system is proposed. The proposed receiver topology enhances the efficiency of the IPT system through achieving that the induced secondary voltage and current are in-phase with the appropriate control method. This paper carried on the modeling of the receiver topology, and deduced the expression of the capacitor voltage ripple in the CW circuit. It provides a reference for the selection of capacitors. The simulation results verified by MATLAB demonstrate the validity of the proposed topology.
