The determination of the 93Nb (n, n′)93mNb excitation function using foil activation

Abstract Neutrons were produced using a 3MV accelerator and standard source reactions covering the energy range 1.1 – 5.8 MeV. The niobium and flux monitor foils were mounted in a recess in the wall of a 235U fission chamber. After irradiation the Nb foils were counted with a calibrated, intrinsic Ge X-ray spectrometer. Preliminary results are presented for cross sections in the above energy range.
