Appropriate methods for the causal analysis of certain kinds of systems of quantitative variables have been available for some time now, and they provide useful tools for the research worker in sociology, and in other fields as well, who may be concerned with the study of quantitative variables. Appropriate methods for the causal analysis of corresponding kinds of systems of qualitative variables have been introduced more recently, and they provide useful tools for the research worker who may be concerned with the study of qualitative variable.
