Use of Data Envelopment Analysis to Measure the Performance Efficiency of Academic Departments

Abstract In this study, Data Envelopment Analysis is used to measure relative efficiency of academic departments of the Faculty of Economics. Input and output criteria are determined and measured utilizing the academic staff performance measurement scheme of the departments of the State Agrarian University of Moldova. Twelve inputs and two outputs which strongly influence the efficiency of the academic departments were selected. The second objective is to rank the academic departments according to their performance efficiency.
