Integrating experimental and computational strength optimization

Abstract An integrated approach that overcomes the shortcoming of using computer-aided analysis (CAA) to optimize an existing product has been developed. CAA and optometric measurement methods are amalgamated for the purpose. Initially the product is assessed optometrically to identify areas of potential improvement. The product is then modeled and optimized using the CAA technique. Before the optimized product is put into production, a prototype is constructed for validation purposes. The proposed approach has been tested, promising results being obtained.
