Smart Audio City Guide: um sistema colaborativo para apoio ao deslocamento urbano de pessoas com deficiência visual

The advent of new technology favours the development of news ways to promote social inclusion. This paper presents a multidisciplinary project henceforth named as Smart Audio City Guide, which was created with the purpose of generating a collaborative environment that relies on the use of smartphones and geolocated voice messages to aid urban mobility of visually disabled people. The project is based on studies regarding collaborative systems and human-machine interaction. The first prototype's tests indicate the project to be very promising, with many of the tester's approval, stating that it could grant them more independence on their daily lives. The application is still under development and its release is planned for the end of 2013 to the general public.
