The international technical trends research institution and association for unmanned vehicle systems international announced that the demand of drone had been risen sharply, in addition the development possibility of that would be considerably positive. One of the most important devices in drone is camera gimbal to take high quality images. Generally motor are used to realize 2 degree of free domin this system the writer suggested that TM(Torque Motor)designed in this paper will be able to make the system simple. In addition the control system will be brief. Optimized torque motor was made in this paper, based on the SPMSM(Surface Permanent Magnet Motor)designed in the project aimed at making gimbal motor. TM was designed with FEM(Finite Element Method). By making comparison the control system between SPMSM and TM, the advantage of TM and validity of using it in gimbal were investigated. Base model was made, based on physical phenomena. Furthermore FEM, RSM(Response Surface Methodology) was used to optimize it. With the result, the performance evaluation was conducted between SPMSM and TM. Finally the research direction of TM was suggested on the basis of data in this paper.
