A high-density and slim-type packaging trend in a notebook PC or handheld PC is being continued as the importance of portability is increased more and more recently. It is important for a dissipation of generated heat to be made effectively for an operating stability and life-time in a small-sized electronic units such as a notebook PC or handheld PC. In the present study, Micro Heat Pipe(MHP) with cross section of polygon has been manufactured and performed in order to review operating characteristics and heat transfer limit. The MHP does not need to have an additional wick in inner space of it. For a small-sized heat pipe like as the one in the present study, the high precision technology is needed at the manufacturing process. The manufactured MHP has a curved triangular cross-section or a curved rectangular cross-section, a container material of copper and a working fluid of pure water. The test was conducted in a vacuum chamber to minimize heat losses and the operating temperatures of 60℃, 70℃, 80℃, and 90℃ were considered. From the test results, the curved triangular MHP can dissipate a thermal load of 7W.
