Research and implementation of security evaluation system for NGN

The network security evaluation is a difficulty and necessary problem for the integrated and heterogeneous network - NGN. This paper introduces a research idea and several solutions to the key problems of security evaluation system for NGN. These key problems include security evaluation model, system architecture, risk calculation, data collection and topology discovery. A layered risk calculation method is presented. The relative details and services' significance in NGN are able to be included in the risk value. The policy- based sensor management makes it available to control the sensors' actions dynamically. The network topology is got by automation scanning and manual emendation efficiently and accurately. The whole system is realized as a part of national project. The implementation of the system indicates that the research idea and the several methods are reasonable and feasible.
