Wavelength-flexible optical signal conversion using a NOLM-based XPM circuit followed by a Brillouin-assisted notch-filtering technique

We propose a wavelength-flexible, optical signal conversion technique using a filter-free fiber-XPM circuit based on a propagation-diversity nonlinear optical loop mirror (NOLM) together with a wavelength-independent PM-IM converter based on a Brillouin-assisted notch- filtering technique. With this method, stable and wavelength-flexible optical signal conversion has been successfully demonstrated at 10-Gbit/s.
