Quantum information to the home

A novel Raman-noise suppression scheme has enabled the first quantum key distribution (QKD) over a Gigabit-Ethernet PON carrying realistic data traffic. The DPSK-QKD system produced a sifted-key rate of 84kb/s with a Quantum-BER of 4%.
