Simultaneous formation of spot-size converters and photodiode waveguides to 90° hybrid for compact coherent receiver by selective regrowth

We demonstrated new cost-effective simultaneous formation method of spot-size converters and photodiode waveguides to 90° hybrid using a single selective regrowth. It simplifies the integration process, which provides both low dark current and high responsivity for a coherent receiver.
