Physical rehabilitation in neurologic diseases.

Neurologic diseases, particularly those affecting the central nervous system, are the focus of an immense amount of research. Although only a small part of that research is directly relevant to rehabilitation, many findings published during the last year have implications for practice. Strategies to affect neglect, sensory loss, paresis, and functional performance have been examined. Approaches as diverse as exercise, feedback, electrical stimulation, patient and environment adaptations, orthotics, and task practice have been advocated.
