Research on forward error correction algorithm in IP-based DVB

Packets lost are common in the IP switching networks. On the basis of Pro-MPEG Code of Practice#3 (CoP#3) Standard, this paper proposed a scheme using the Reed-Salomon Erasure (RSE) code to correct the lost packets over IP network. Compared with the scheme of the CoP#3, the proposed scheme can improve the error correction performance with tiny increased complexity.
