Expert support systems: integrating AI technologies

The computer's impact on business in recent years is nothing short of incredible. Both hardware and software technologies have been advancing at a very fast pace and computers have become a fixture in virtually every modern office. Sophisticated software has been developed that will assist managers in their decision- making processes and also enable computers to think like human experts. These software packages are respectively known as decision support systems (DSS) and expert systems (ES). A DSS is a computer-based system that can help decision makers address semistructured problems by allowing them to access and use data and analytic models
