Architecture and simulation of sensor network system for urban surveillance

This paper proposes a novel urban surveillance system architecture based on the concept of sensor network. Firstly, this paper describes the system briefly and presents the architecture of the overall system. The function of each part and information flow diagram are also presented. Furthermore, ARM chip is introduced to develop a sensor node and wireless communication module is integrated into this device. In order to forecast and analyze the properties of the communication system, a simulation study using a practical road network is presented. The simulation results show that the system proposed in this paper is valid and applicable. A conclusion is drawn in the final part and some theoretical and technical problems are also discussed as future key works
