A hybrid transmission scheme for multiple IPTV streams in UWB bridged networks

We first propose a remote bridge architecture to interconnect multiple UWB domains. Due to the limitation of the medium access slot reservation in the UWB MAC, bridges support only a maximum of 8 HDTV streams with guaranteed QoS simultaneously. To overcome this limitation, we also propose a hybrid transmission scheme that converts DRP traffic to be rejected to PCA traffic with the highest priority at the remote bridge. With the scheme, it is shown by simulation that the maximum number of HDTV streams with guaranteed QoS is doubled.
