Gain enhancement of microstrip antennas with overlaying parasitic directors

The gain characteristics of rectangular microstrip antennas with one and two overlaying parasitic directors have been investigated experimentally. Results indicate that, when properly spaced, the parasitic directors can enhance the gain (dB) and reduce the beamwidth of the antenna by a factor of two or better.
