The use of silica gel coated with liquid paraffin as a stationary phase for chromatographic analysis of phytochemicals

The development of the use of liquid paraffin as an impregnating agent for silica gel employed in chromatography is briefly reviewed. Its application to the isolation of polar chromone alkaloids and relatively non-polar esters of long-chain aliphatic acids and phenols is described.
