Weight Scale Using Quartz Crystal Resonator Having Wide Dynamic Range

Force measurement can play an important role in the bio-medical field due to measuring bio-signal information (body weight, pulse and respiration) by non-binding measurement method. Conventionally, weight scale measures only body weight because it does not have enough dynamic range. We have realized a load sensor using Quartz Crystal Resonator (QCR) with dynamic range of the order of 106. In this paper, we proposed weight scale using QCR having wide dynamic range to realize simultaneous measurement of body weight and ballistocardiogram (BCG).
