Application of LEC-M method in safety evaluation of ship lift construction

During the construction of ship lift,the buildings are mostly vertical types of high-dams,which leads to upper and lower construction,inside and outside construction as well as different types of constructions being carried out simultaneously,namely,the grade separation operation brings great difficulties to the security management in the construction of the ship lift.Taking ship lift grade separation operation as a starting point,the process of the operating unit in ship lift construction was analyzed.According to the classification standards of accidents,for risk identification,risk sources of ship lift grade separation operation were classified into three types,i.e.,high-falling,object's strike and collapse.LEC-M method was applied to evaluate the security risk rating of various risk sources in ship lift grade separation operation,and then,based on the specific provisions involved in risk evaluation,some effective measures were proposed to reduce the risks.The practical application of this method in the Three Gorges Ship Lift Barrel had achieved a good effect.
