An all-fiber phase locking setup for multicore fiber lasers

Summary form only given. To coherently couple low-power lasers with reliable beam quality in order to achieve a high-power output is a desirable goal for different types of lasers. Unfortunately theoretical studies revealed the instability of the phase-locked state over a wide range of system parameters which gives rise to various types of interesting but mostly undesired temporal and spatial dynamics. Therefore phase locking of the separate emitter by external means remains a crucial task. While many of the introduced phase locking setups are of complex nature we introduced phase locking setups are of complex nature we introduce phase locking into a multicore fiber laser by a simple fiber mirror (FM).
