Vector control algorithms implementation for inverter-fed permanent magnet synchronous motor using transputer

The authors describe the vector control of a three-phase permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM) drive using the transputer. After reviewing the advantages of this solution, two of the possible vector control schemes for PMSM drives are considered: a widespread scheme based on the principle of rotor flux oriented control and a novel scheme based on the principle of stator flux oriented control. The design of the drive and the transputer implementation of both control algorithms are presented. Experimental tests carried out on the control system with different implementations of the algorithms are also shown.<<ETX>>
