Study of low-spin states in 122Cd.

The structure of [sup 122]Cd was studied through the decay of [sup 122]Ag by [gamma]-[gamma] coincidences, [gamma]-ray angular correlations, and [beta]-[gamma]-[gamma] fast electronic scintillation timing (FEST) measurements. The phonon and intruder structure of the 0[sup +] states is discussed. The energy systematics of the low-lying levels in the Cd isotopes exhibits two distinct patterns, one minimizing at midshell, one somewhat later.
