Modelling Wind Speed for Improving the Air Pollution Control

amount of atmospheric turbulence or the ambient temperature. In this paper we examine wind speed forecasting in order to accurately monitor the air pollution concentration emitted by a cement plant in Ta@ca, Romania. A Gene Expression Programming algorithm performing symbolic regression was built to forecast future values of wind speed time series. We have used a professional computer aided modelling and pollution control tool (referred to as PoLogCem Software- Pollution Logistic Cement) and the DTREG predictor software.
