Real-time coherent optical OFDM receiver at 2.5-GS/s for receiving a 54-Gb/s multi-band signal

We demonstrate the real-time implementation of a FPGA-based coherent optical OFDM (CO-OFDM) receiver at 2.5-Gsamples/s, which successfully receives a subband of a 54-Gb/s multi-band CO-OFDM signal with a record-low error floor of 3.7×10−8.
