A New Problem Analysis Method in Open Systems Using "Function Chain"

We are proposing a new method for identifying a root failure point in open system problems. The analysis of issues often depends on the experience of support engineers and the process tends to be vague. The "function chain" method enables the engineers to draw a problem visually, and the diagram shows the direction of analysis. This method provides more efficiency than the existing techniques such as Fault Tree Analysis in narrowing down the problem toward the failure point. We are also proposing an approach to judge if an individual component in a function chain is faulty or functioning. We will be comparing log information collected before and after the problem.
