Power control of downlink shared channel in soft handover in 3gpp system

PURPOSE: A method for controlling the power of a TFCI(Transport Format Combination Indicator) field for a DSCH(Downlink Shared CHannel) in the handover of a 3GPP system is provided to improve the performance of a DSCH by executing power control for TFCI bits in case that a DCH(Dedicated CHannel) associated with the DSCH is in a soft handover situation. CONSTITUTION: Different power control methods are applied to a TFCI field according to a UE(User Equipment)'s mode selection. The UE measures the power from each base station and settles the base station of the largest power as a main base station. In case that a base station which transmits a DSCH is selected as the main base station, the UE executes the same power control method as the other fields of a DPCCH(Dedicated Physical Control CHannel) for the power control of the TFCI field. However, if a base station which transmits the DSCH is not the main base station, the UE transmits power at a regular rate.
