Selection of Video Coding Standards for Digital Home System

The technical characteristics and technical differences of GB/T 20090.2(AVS video),GB/T 17951.2(MPEG-2 video) and international standard ISO/IEC 14496-10(MPEG-4 AVC/ITU-T H.264) released in 2003 are analyzed and compared.The video and the complexity of the AVS and AVC differences are analyzed,followed the internal organization of MPEG-2 video and AVC contrast test are introduced.Then,the related testing institutions to AVS subjective test results are given.Finally,the international telecommunication union(ITU-T) will be included in the process of IPTV AVS standards in China is introduced and digital TV receiver will be as the only standard for video AVS decision-making,and the concerning digital home video coding standard system of selective suggestion is put forward.
