Elasto-plastic analysis of single-angle bolted-welded connections using the finite element method

Abstract The results of an extensive numerical elaslo-plastic study of single-angle connections subjected to cyclic loading consisting of end shear and bolt-moment are discussed. The thrust of the study is directed towards an improved understanding of the stress variations and the propagation of plastic zones in the vicinity of the weld.
