Error Analysis and Parameters of Switches in Small Step Simulation for Real-time Simulation

The real-time simulation for solid switch converter is one special difficulty in the field of simulation of VSC-HVDC transmission systems. The current ideal switch modeling in electromagnetic simulation can not realize real-time in small time step. Therefore the L/C equivalent modeling was applied to improve computation efficiency and the accuracy of the modeling and the feasibility of small time step algorithm were verified theoretically. Furthermore, the optimization of parameters of this model were also discussed.Finally, an advanced L/C model for switches was established.This novel model was implemented in ADPSS and verified by the simulation in PACAD.
