Sensorless control of field oriented AC motors using embedded DSP board

In this paper, the authors apply two observer based methods, the Kalman filter technique (KFT) and the Luenberger speed observer (LSO), to vector controlled AC drives to achieve a speed sensorless operation. These two type of methods are simulated and compared on the basis of a set of criteria. The most important parameters which basically influence the quality of drives are estimated and discussed.
