Research on Practicability of Power System Fault Calculation Software

Fault calculation is very important in power system analysis and calculation. In traditional fault calculation software there are some shortcomings in these aspects: the data modeling of complicated power network, the organization and management of data, the processing ability of complicated fault calculation, the user interface, and the data sharing and integration with other applications. The objective of practicable software for power system fault calculation is discussed. A client/server based, object oriented, graphic and modularized system architecture for it is proposed. The database structure, the memory data structure, and the mode of data management and function dispatch on graphic user interface are analyzed and block designed in detail. The graphical fault calculation software based on this design has been developed and applied in central China power system.
