EVALUATION OF BUNDLE BLOCK ADJUSTMENT WITH ADDITIONAL PARAMETERS USING IMAGES ACQUIRED BY SAAPI SYSTEM

Currently there is a growing demand for updated digital images to several applications, like environmental monitoring and road, power line and pipelines projects, besides mapping applications. For these applications the use of the medium format digital cameras emerged as a potential alternative, with advantages because of their flexibility and cost effectiveness replacing the traditional film cameras. Within this context, SAAPI project started aiming to conceive and develop an airborne image acquisition system based on medium format digital cameras, integrated to direct orientation sensors, electronic devices and hardware and software developments. Several aerial survey projects were performed in the latest two years with the SAAPI system. In one of these projects, tests of bundle block triangulation with additional parameters were performed to evaluate the system performance and also to verify the increase on the accuracy on the object space coordinates, when considering the inner orientation parameters (IOP) estimated during the on-thejob calibration. The results showed that the IOP estimation with the bundle block adjustment increase the accuracy of the object space points in two-three times, mainly in the vertical component, when compared to the traditional solution with a priori set of IOP determined using the calibration field.
