Investigations of an erbium doped optical fiber for quantum state storage

We study optical coherence properties and Stark-shift based broadening of the 1.53 mum transition of an erbium doped telecommunication fiber. Our findings demonstrate its potential for quantum state storage as required for a quantum repeater
