The payment authentication method mainly comprises the following steps: a registering step: acquiring registered human biological characteristic information of an IC card owner by a terminal, generating a registered human biological characteristic code, dividing the registered human biological characteristic code into a characteristic code A and a characteristic code B, storing the characteristic code A into an IC card, and storing the characteristic code B into a background system; a comparing step: after initiating a transaction request, combining the characteristic code B stored in the background system and the characteristic code A stored in the IC card by the terminal to generate a temporarily-stored human biological characteristic code, acquiring human biological characteristic information for onsite payment entered by the card owner by the terminal to generate a human biological characteristic code for onsite payment, and reading the temporarily-stored human biological characteristic code and comparing with onsite human biological characteristics by the terminal; an authorizing step: during comparison, sending a comparison result to the background system.
