Study on atmospheric breakdown experimental for single HPM pulse

High power microwave (HPM) atmospheric transmission is a hot research topic currently in high power microwave technology. It is an important part of the HPM atmospheric transmission that analyzes the atmospheric breakdown to reduce the energy loss. To study HPM atmospheric breakdown time and breakdown probability, HPM atmospheric breakdown experiment is carried out by dielectric lens focusing method in this paper with simulated verification. The conclusion shows there is a linear correlation between breakdown time and atmospheric pressure.
